Beardsley Architects and Engineers Supports CCHFH with Annual Golf Tournament for 5th Time
Cayuga County Habitat for Humanity (CCHH) once again thanks Beardsley Architects and Engineers for supporting our ministry via its Annual Golf Tournament at Dutch Hollow Country Club, their 16th this year. Beardsley has “had our back” for a long time in many ways, not the least of which is benefiting us through this tournament for the past five years! We are so grateful.
This year, the August 14 event raised $3,112.97 for our upcoming house project, our 23rd since we began our work in Cayuga County in 1991! That house has not been identified yet, but we are searching for it diligently now that we are on the cusp of selling our 21st and 22nd houses to the families who partnered with us to work on them. These families will soon be successful first-time homeowners. Watch for publicity of our House Dedication ceremonies for both homes later this fall, a time to celebrate our families and our many donors and volunteers.
A lot of hard work goes into making a golf tournament happen, especially during a year of challenge like 2020 has been. We owe a special thank you to Karen Jones, who not only handles planning for the golf tournament, but also serves on CCHH’s Board of Directors and our Family Selection Committee. Along with the ordinary logistics of hosting an event like this, Karen and other Beardsley staff, and the Golf Club, were careful to ensure social distancing and other safety protocol for all the participants, tournament volunteers and club staff. It was a gorgeous day, and everybody who came out to support the cause seemed to have a great time!
In these uncertain times for everyone, it feels especially comforting to have the generous and unflinching encouragement and support of businesses like Beardsley Architects and Engineers. They have been a great community partner and friend to CCHH. We hope they know how much of a difference they have made to our cause of decent and affordable homes for everyone.
